Our History
Originally constructed in 1940 by John Tringas, the historic building that houses Suds N Cinema was one of the first structures on Main Street (now Miracle Strip Parkway) in downtown Fort Walton Beach, Florida. For decades, it operated as the Tringas Theater, serving as the area's lone cinematic anchor before shifting market trends in the 1970s prompted a transition from sloped theater seating to leveled dining floors. After cycling through several identities—including stints as Cinema Plus and Apples Disco—the venue underwent a massive, top-to-bottom structural renovation in late 2018. Today, it remains the only locally-owned and operated theater on the Emerald Coast, blending its historic 1940s facade with a nostalgic, mid-century soda fountain motif and modern in-theater dining.

Wheelchair Access
Suds is accessible via the rear doors. The interior has ramps and ADA-compliant restrooms. (Its best to coordinate with a staff member to ensure the rear doors are unlocked when you arrive).
Private Parties
Rent the theater for your event. Depending on your needs we can provide use of the projector and stage for presentations. Food and refreshments can also be made available. Reach out to learn more.

Pre-Show Plans
We recommend arriving 20-30 minutes before the scheduled showtime to allow time to purchase tickets, find a table, and place a kitchen order with your server.
Parking
Our main parking is just to the west of the theater. However, it is public parking and during peak hours downtown it fills quickly. There is additional public parking across the street from the theater on the north side of Hwy 98 which does have a crosswalk.
Outside food and drink
We do not allow for outside food or drink.
